Learn where notifications appear and how to interact with them.
Stay Connected
The Notification Bell
The notification bell is your personal herald, announcing important updates about your events and groups. Look for the bell icon in the top navigation bar.
Unread Badge
When you have unread notifications, a red badge appears on the bell:
- The badge shows your unread count (up to 99+)
- It updates in real-time as new notifications arrive
- Once you read or clear notifications, the badge updates
Quick Actions in the Dropdown
Click the bell (or press Enter on it) to open a panel with your recent notifications. Everything in it can be reached with Tab:
- View notification - Click any notification's title to go to the related content
- Mark read - The checkmark next to an unread notification
- Delete - The trash icon next to each notification
- Mark all as read - At the bottom of the panel
- Notification settings - Opens your email preferences
Notification Icons
Each notification displays an icon indicating its type:

Accessing the Center
- Click View all at the bottom of the bell panel
- Or navigate directly to
/notifications
Filtering Notifications
Use the filter dropdown to focus on specific notification types:
- All Types - See everything
- Poll Responses - When others respond to your polls
- Event Updates - Changes to events you're part of
- Event Published - New events in your groups
- Event Finalized - Confirmed event times
- Invitations - New event invitations
- Surveys - Post-event feedback requests
- Subscriptions - Account tier changes
- New Posts - Message board activity
- New Replies - Responses to your posts
- Reactions - When someone reacts to your content
- System - Platform announcements
Bulk Actions
Manage multiple notifications at once:
- Mark all read - Clear all unread badges
- Clear all - Delete all notifications (with confirmation)
- Pagination - Browse older notifications with Previous/Next
Real-Time Delivery
EventMoot notifications arrive instantly, like a town crier announcing news the moment it happens.
Toast Notifications
When a new notification arrives while you're using EventMoot:
- A toast popup appears in the corner
- Shows the notification title and preview
- Includes a View button to jump to the related content
- Automatically dismisses after a few seconds
Instant Updates
The notification bell updates in real-time:
- No need to refresh the page
- New notifications appear at the top of your list
- Unread count updates immediately
Where Notifications Take You
Clicking a notification, in the bell, on the Notifications page or in Recent Activity on your dashboard, navigates you to the relevant content:
