What You Hear About

Not every message needs to interrupt your boss fight. The table has one row per kind of activity, with an In-app switch and an Email switch:

ActivityIn-appEmail
New events and polls in my mootsOnOn
Final dates, changes and cancellationsOnOn
RemindersOnOff until you turn on email copies (needs in-app on)
Responses to my eventsOnOn
Board posts and repliesOnNot sent by email
InvitationsOnOn
Account and securityAlways onAlways on

New events, final dates and reminders share one in-app setting, so those switches move together. New events and invitations share one email setting.

Email Copies of In-App Notices

Reminders, after-event surveys (from organizers on Ent), moot-wide invites and edits other people make to your events only show up in the app unless you turn on Email copies of in-app notices. Turning on the Reminders email switch turns it on too. A copy needs the notice itself, so a kind you've turned off in the app isn't emailed either.

Cancellations always show in the app. Invites sent to your email address always arrive by email.

Your Moots

Below the table, every moot you belong to has its own level:

  • Everything: events, polls, reminders, and every board post and reaction
  • Important only: no new board posts or reactions
  • Muted: nothing from this moot, except cancellations and time, place or link changes for sessions you're going to

You can also change a moot's level from the moot itself. Muting is the way to quiet a busy moot without leaving it.

Other Channels

Email Delivery

Event email reaches every plan. Reminder timing, the other emails we send, and the switch that turns all email off are under Settings › Email Preferences. See the Email Notifications guide.

Discord Webhooks

Send notifications to your Discord server. Available for Ent subscribers.

  • Personal webhooks for your notifications
  • Moot webhooks for Moot-wide alerts
  • Rich embeds with event details

See the Discord Integration guide for setup instructions.

Best Practices for Gaming Groups

High-Activity Moots

If your group has lots of message board activity:

  • Set the moot to Important only, or turn off Board posts and replies everywhere
  • Keep Final dates, changes and cancellations on so you don't miss sessions
  • Use Discord webhooks for a dedicated scheduling channel

Multiple Moots

If you're in several moots:

  • Keep your primary gaming group on Everything
  • Set the others to Important only or Muted
  • Use Discord webhooks with separate channels per moot

Organizers vs. Players

If you organize events:

  • Keep Responses to my events on to track participation

If you're primarily a player:

  • Invitations and Final dates, changes and cancellations matter most
